Kernels of Hope

May 3, 2018

Spring is here and it’s time to Grow again ! We do have farmers in the prairies just getting on to the land in many areas this weekend. Plans now turn into action! It’s the same for our Kernels of Hope project. We have some commitments of real farmers across the Prairies that will grow some acres for people like you and I that may not be real farmers but can participate in a wonderful way by paying for some of the costs of production and using nature to multiply the seeds the farmers plant and using math and connections to multiply the Dollars raised from those crops. We are able to do this through Tearfund Canada (formerly World Relief Canada) and the Canadian Food Grains Bank and the Government of Canada! In 2018 we are helping people in Wolaita, Ethiopia, Africa to support themselves through training in Conservation Agriculture and Self-Help groups.

We are holding the line at expenses and saying that $200 is still the suggested cost of sponsoring an acre. Part acres and multiple acres are still always welcome! If you think you can help this year here are 2 ways… Cheques can be made to ECCC (with Kernels on the note line) and mailed to ECCC  Box 23117  RPO  McGillivray,  Winnipeg, Mb  R3T 5S3   or donate on-line at    Tax receipts will be provided.

If you want to check crop progress this year I will send a few update emails but you can also check the Kernels of Hope blog.

Anticipation of the 2018 crop begins now! Grow with us…
